In preparation for a recent vacation, I recorded and wrote a bunch of content to schedule in my absence.
Today, I want to share with you how I churned out 9+ pieces of content over the course of 4.5 hours.

Here’s the output:
- 3 YouTube videos
- 3 podcast episodes from those videos
- 1 blog posts
- 1 live stream
- 1 short form video
- Audio of live stream republished to a podcast feed
And here are the tools I used:
★ Support this podcast ★[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Hello, hello everyone. Welcome to another episode of Podcast Workflows.
[00:00:06] [SPEAKER_00]: The podcast where I teach you how to improve your processes and workflows to save 12 plus hours per week.
[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_00]: My name is Joe Casabona. I'm a podcast systems coach.
[00:00:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been podcasting for over a decade and I've built my entire life around automation.
[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Today, I'm going to tell you how I prepped 9 plus pieces of content in 4.5 Hours.
[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_00]: So in preparation for a recent vacation that I am back from,
[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I recorded and wrote a bunch of content to schedule in my absence.
[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I want to share with you kind of how I churned out these 9 pieces of content over the course of about half of a work day.
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And so what we got was 3 YouTube videos, 3 podcast episodes, 1 blog post, maybe 2 blog posts,
[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_00]: 1 live stream, 1 short form video.
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And then the audio of that live stream was also republished to a podcast feed.
[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: So really it's like 4 podcast episodes.
[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_00]: So what is that? 7, 8, 9, 10.
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_00]: 10 pieces of 9 plus, right?
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_00]: OK, so and then here are the tools that I used.
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I will link to all of this in the show notes for this episode,
[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_00]: which you can find in the description for your podcast or over at show.podcastworkflows.com.
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_00]: OK, so the tools I used are Ecam Live, the Elgato Promptor, Logic Pro, ScreenFlow,
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Isotope RX, CapShow and CastMagic, and then TransistorandRSS.com.
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_00]: So here's how it worked.
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I went very video first for this process.
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And so for each video, I wrote basically, I didn't script it, but I did a basic outline of what I wanted to talk about.
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And then for each video, I set up a number of scenes in Ecam Live for lower thirds, nice layouts for screen sharing and more.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I can, I have a bunch of these scenes set up on my stream deck, which then I can easily switch between.
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And the reason that I'm able to do that, or the reason I like to do that is because it allows me to edit quickly in a few different ways.
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I am doing the editing for these videos.
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't have a video editor.
[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I do have an audio editor, but because of the shorter time span for these solo pieces of content, I didn't use him.
[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll talk about that in a minute.
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_00]: But using Ecam Live specifically allows me to, well, I don't have to add overlays in my video editor or like do any kind of crafty editing.
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I can pause the recording and pick up where I left off.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_00]: So if I need to stop for some reason, I don't need to edit a whole bunch of stuff out or reshoot.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: It all comes in one video, so I don't need to combine a bunch of videos either.
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I also get the video, the audio, my main camera source and separate audio for each track.
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_00]: That's me, any sound effects and my guests when I use Ecam Live.
[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_00]: So I can use them as much as needed without having to reshoot or manually separate anything.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_00]: That is especially handy for the single camera view, right?
[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_00]: When I switch to scenes, that means that my camera is partially obscured, but Ecam Live gives me just the raw camera feed so I can use that as needed.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So it makes getting the assets easy, it reduces my editing time.
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And I can also just get the clean audio, which means I can usually repurpose just straight up the audio without having to separate it from the video.
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Now once the content is recorded, that's the video, the audio and everything, I import the audio only into Logic Pro where I have an audio processing chain.
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: This chain relies heavily on Isotope RX to add breath control, mouth de-clicking and then clean up and boost my audio.
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_00]: This usually gets done with one, like, hey learn this audio and now apply all of the filters.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I export that and then I replace the audio in screen flow with the newly cleaned up and processed audio.
[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_00]: If I need to make any cuts, I will do it there so that I can easily sync the video and the audio and then I will export the video and I will export the audio.
[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll also use screen flows markers to add chapters because that's a lot easier to do as I'm editing and then I'll upload the video to YouTube and the audio to my podcast host.
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_00]: In most cases right now that's transistor but I'm using rss.com, which full disclosure I'm an rss.com evangelist and I am using rss.com for one that I'll talk about in a minute.
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_00]: So that is video and audio. I did that three times, right? I created three different videos and exported the audio.
[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Those were podcast episodes I just included a video component for which I'm also doing for this, right?
[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_00]: So you can watch this on YouTube right now if you want or if you want to keep listening in the audio feed.
[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_00]: It really is an audio first podcast. I'm not really doing anything visually interesting.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_00]: That's different for the three things in podcasting because I do have some visuals there or like I bring up the article and kind of we can read along to it.
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_00]: But for most of these where I'm just narrating, it's me talking to the camera and that's the other important like I use the Elgato prompter.
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_00]: So that I can have what I want to say on the screen and like a confidence monitor, which is like so I can see the screen that's being recorded and maintain eye contact with the camera and therefore with you.
[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not like always off reading from something else. Everything I'm reading from when I am reading is on the Elgato prompter.
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so now to create the written assets. I will use Cap show and cast magic.
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: It's really like either one like either or on those.
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't really use any AI tool like I you know I love the Cap show team especially their great people.
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't use any AI tools enough for me to want to pay any appreciable amount of money for it.
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_00]: But it's mostly to gather ideas and get basic wording and highlights.
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_00]: That said, I did manage to get a pretty clean blog post from Cap show for one of my videos so interesting to see how that works out in the future.
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So from the three videos I got three videos three podcast episodes and then a blog post for one of those right because that was a lot cleaner than the other ones.
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And I thought it would make a good blog post.
[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Now the live stream works a little bit differently.
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I still use echem live and this time I'm streaming to YouTube Twitch and LinkedIn.
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Now I used to stream to Twitter slash X as well but they decided to pay wall that and I don't feel like paying money for Twitter anymore.
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So I do stream to those three places when the stream is over because everything is recorded locally in echem live.
[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I simply upload the audio to my podcast workflows live podcast on RSS.com.
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And the real re like the main reason I chose RSS.com for this show specifically is for their support of the live item tag or the lit tag.
[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Once I set that up properly, I'll be able to stream directly to RSS.com without the extra step of uploading it and that was very appealing to me.
[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_00]: So soon it'll be it'll it won't even be any extra steps.
[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll be able to stream to YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn and podcast players that support live all in one fell swoop.
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's amazing.
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: But that's really it.
[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_00]: That's that's the whole walkthrough with the combination of excellent tools and a little bit of repurposing.
[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I was able to create nine plus quality pieces of content.
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: They all went out while I was on vacation.
[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_00]: So this is really I have a good workflow in place for this.
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_00]: If you want to learn more about that workflow, you can join my mailing list over at podcast workflows.com slash join.
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_00]: There'll be a link in the description for this episode as well.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm going to be diving a lot more into these kind of workflows and how each of these tools work.
[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: So I do advise hiring an editor, but for I have really good equipment and I need to just do a few things of clean up when I do a solo episode like this.
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_00]: For my interviews especially I still have an editor and he does all the cutting and fun stuff.
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_00]: But you know, the right tools make it really easy.
[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I wouldn't be able to easily edit without isotope Rx like their tools are just fantastic.
[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It was $200 for the tools I bought and they make my job a lot easier.
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_00]: So the right tools, the right plot processes in place and some time, right?
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not telling you hey how to get nine pieces of content in 30 minutes.
[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_00]: No, it still takes time to make good content.
[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_00]: But from that initial good content investment, you can get a lot of really good content out there fairly easily, right?
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Spend the time creating and then have the right process in place to get it to all the right places.
[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's it for this episode.
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for listening.
[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Check out the links in the description.
[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Be sure to join my mailing list over at podcastworkflows.com slash join.
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And until next time, I'll see you out there.
